Using Social Media To Obtain First Page Google Placement

When it comes to internet based businesses, we all want to find ourselves on the first page of Google. The reality is, even if you own a local business, you want to be on the first page of Google. This is because studies show that before making a purchase of any product or service that costs more than $100, a great majority of consumers will do a search to find out where they are going to spend their money. The cool thing is, it’s not too hard to get to the top of the search engines. I’ve found that you can do this by using social media. Here’s how:

Step #1: Setting Up Social Media Accounts – The first thing you will need to do for this process to work for you is set up social media accounts. Although, you may have your personal preferences when it comes to social media sites, I would suggest signing up for Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. These are the most popular platforms. Once you sign up, fill your profile with tons of information about you. Anything you can think to add would be good. The more you have, the more consumers get to know you and the higher the probability of them adding you as a friend.

Step #2: Make Friends: Now that you have your social media accounts, you are well on your way. However, they won’t do anything for you without a captive audience that will comment, like and share your posts. With that said, it’s time to make friends. It’s also time to keep spam rules in mind. You can’t just run around these networks following everyone you see in hopes that they will follow back. But, you can go around the network and socialize. I do this by liking, commenting and sharing any post that I find interesting. The owners of the posts get curious and end up following me. I then follow them in return to solidify the new social relationship!

Step #3: Get Friends Talking About You: Because so many people admit to using social media these days, search engines often look into what people are talking about for the purpose of understanding relevance and trust of that website. With that said, start a few conversations with your newly found friends. When the time is right, share a link to your website. If your friends like what they see, chances are, they will share it with their friends which builds your trust and search engine rankings!
